[00:01:15] Speaker A: Hello, hello everyone and good morning. Welcome to another episode of NONE of YOUR business.
I am actually currently in Thailand in Bangkok.
It's about two weeks after my beautiful destination wedding in Playa del Carmen. So I've been away for a bit and it's funny because I actually recorded a couple of episodes, but I really wanted to insert a solo episode in between so that I can have one on one time with you guys.
And I wanted to also share this principle.
And it's funny because my producer has been harassing me, with my permission obviously, because I tell him he can do that and he should do it if I'm procrastinating on something. But it wasn't so much as procrastinating. It was mostly that it was hard for me to find the headspace to record this podcast and to actually give you some good thoughts and insights. And I had a lot of realizations lately which I wanted to share first. Starting off with, you know, my wedding and it was just like the happiest day of my life and everything was perfectly imperfect. You know when you are doing a thing such as a huge thing, a huge life changing and you know, milestone such as a wedding, you have these certain expectations and you work so hard and everything is just kind of riding on this one day when everything will happen. And it's funny because you work so hard, you try to get as many meetings in talking to your suppliers, you try to, you know, work with your husband and or wife depending on who is leading the planning. But my husband and I had an agreement that probably not an agreement, but he gifted me the wedding and so he spent for like 90% of all the expenses of the wedding and I had little things which were, which was like, you know, Caprice basically mostly that I spent for. But I'm very grateful that he, you know, gifted me a really beautiful wedding. My dream wedding, happiest day of my life. It was at a beachfront venue in Playa del Carmen Quintana Room, Mexico. And never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I could. I, I would do that. I would be able to do that. So shout out to my husband, Alex Booth.
And he also, I also want to obviously congratulate him and, and do a shout out for him here. He just started his management consulting company. He was with Amazon and Microsoft and Yellow Pages for almost a.
And he has led teams, he has worked with billion dollar companies and leading client success teams and he's really good at what he does. So he finally let go of the golden handcuffs and he is busy. And I'm a little jealous because when I started my businesses I wasn't, you know, I didn't have a client that paid me five figure contract on, on my first month of coaching or consulting. And you know, well, it just, it's just amazing because obviously he is who he just very smart and, and driven and he's very good at what he does. So for those who know me and want to get on his wait list, let me know and I can, you know, if you're nice to me and if I like you, then maybe you guys will have a great time working together. He's specializes on client success and operations around client success and turning your clients into evangelists and super happy clients. So yeah, that's his specialty.
He should actually pay me for this ad. But, but I'm just, I'm just saying that, you know, with a lot of the big milestones happening in our lives, you know, he quit his job and we got married and we've been busy, you know, we've been busy him starting a business and us organizing a wedding, a destination wedding at that. We had like 40 people come to see us and almost all of them, I think only two people didn't have to fly in, but everyone had to fly in as far as Australia and Philippines. And it was a little overwhelming. And in that, in those few weeks, I'm super grateful that my team had my back in my company. Proximity outsourcing. My operations manager jokingly told me that I am banned from our slack and that you know, they made jokes that if I were, I were to message them, they will not reply to me just to force me to not work. But I was able to fully relax and trust my team. And I've never been away for that long. You know, I would go through certain seasons of not working or maybe I'll have a long weekend and then you know, the other way around where I would put 14 hours of work in that day or if I'm launching something, if I'm busy or if I'm writing something, or if I'm, you know, scheduling a lot of sales calls or having high level conversations or being present in conferences. All of those things are work. So I've never really been away for like weeks at a time. And not just as in, you know, as in like not be, not opening my laptop, right, like not logging on like my slack or my work email for weeks. Like it was just a different experience. And honestly it really made me appreciate the thing that I do, the thing that I do for my clients and of course my team and I'm just super proud of them. So yeah, I, I just wanted to share about that and how grateful I am and I, as I was sitting down about, you know, journaling about how grateful I am that we're able to do that and that my husband is not working a full time job anymore, he has a lot more freedom.
I thought about what are the things that led us to this, right?
And we can always talk about hard work, we can always talk about making the right connections. It's not what you know, but who you know, you know, certain kind of statements that are very short sighted in my opinion.
And so I started to dig deeper and I realized that one of the big needle movers of our lives is investing in high ROI activities.
And so today's episode I will discuss high ROI weekend activities that you can do instead of binge watching Netflix.
So one of my vices is watching reality dating shows. I'm obsessed with Love is Blind, the Ultimatum, Love Island, Too hot to handle all of those things. As a marketer, it's because I get to see people's motivations.
I get to read the psychology of it, make my predictions, make my, you know, have certain theories on why they act a certain way, why they make this decision, why they said that.
So that part is exciting to me. I love being like this amateur psychologist in front of my TV and binge watching both shallow and important life decisions being made on the screen by these reality stars.
It's fascinating. One of the things that I, I like is, I personally think is Pretty Trashy is 90 Day Fiance.
It's fascinating because there's a class, there's a class spin to it. And there's, you know, there's the immigration thing. And then also you, it's, these are people from two different cultures. So seeing those things like clash was just really fascinating to me. I also really like Married at first sight because it's just a very, very crazy, to be honest, it's a crazy principle.
And then.
Yeah, so I was thinking, you know, this is something that I do from time to time, but some people do this all the time. They just kind of shut off and, and binge watch Netflix and, and they're kind of addicted to it and they're just glued on the TV and, and they're entertained. But there are so many things that you can do so that you can make that time have a better ROI or return on investment. You know, as business owners, as entrepreneurs or aspiring entrepreneurs, which is most of the listenership of this podcast, we always think about what is a better roi? What is a better way to do this? How can I optimize this? How can I make this better?
And today we're going to discuss high ROI weekend activities so that you can invest your weekend time better. So even if you have a full time job and you're trying to start a side hustle and, or you quit your job and you want to start a business, or you have a business and you just want to make good use of your weekends. So obviously when I say weekend, it doesn't mean it has to be Saturday and Sunday only. Of course you can do this anytime. Depends on your time flexibility. But for kind of a general usage, weekend is, is a concept, right?
So I have 10 suggestions for you. I hope that you write this down and I hope that you try each and every one of these suggestions because I guarantee you're going to get a lot of ROI from it.
So let's start.
So my first high ROI weekend activity would be to read a biography. Okay?
So a lot of you might already roll your eyes because a lot of people don't read and for a lot of people it's boring and it's not fun.
But reading a biography is actually gossip. It's just gossip. Just think about it like gossip. You're just gossiping about someone's life and isn't gossip exciting?
And so I want you to think of it that way. But the cool thing about biographies, in my opinion, and why I think it is such an elevated type of literature, is because you get to really summarize someone's life and put the best parts of it on paper. And you get to learn about it even if you haven't talked to this person. Plus, you get to learn context. A lot of biographies tell stories about someone's childhood, someone's decision making, someone's first job, someone's marriage, the way that they fell in love, how they started their first business, their first hardships and challenges. And so I would really, really recommend reading a biography. It's just a way to learn from people without having to be directly coached by them and then to have access to these stories long before they're gone. Right.
Some of my favorite biographies would be past presidents.
And funnily, I also love biographies or autobiographies of celebrities that I find interesting.
So comedians. I love reading everything that they write because they're just really talented writers of prosecutors and.
And past presidents. Yeah, past presidents. Or any kind of famous politician or someone that changed the landscape of politics or of a government.
I particularly liked.
I particularly liked the biography of James Madison. I remember it. I remember reading about it when I was 18, and I really, really liked it.
I am right now reading the Elon Musk biography, the one that just came out.
And it's really fun. It's fascinating. I also have read the Steve Jobs biography. And then I also had a lot of fun reading the autobiographies of some reality, Even reality stars.
Christine Quinn, I think it's not. I don't know if it's technically a biography, but I think her book was something about like how bitches succeed or something like that. Let me check it out again. It's in my Audible library. I think I listened to it.
How to be a Boss.
Okay. So yeah, I would kind of. It's probably not really a biography, but it was. It was fun. So you don't only have to, you know, like, read a biography or listen to a biography just to learn how to overthrow a government or some. Or start a billion dollar company. But there's lessons along the way that you can use for other parts of your life. And if you also want to use it strictly for entertainment, there's nothing wrong with that.
Number two would be read fiction.
It's funny because my two suggestions are both reading.
But reading a fiction for me is a good way to take a vacation from all the business stuff that you're reading.
And when I say reading, it's not just business books, Right. It's also all these business podcasts that you listen to or all of this posts from Facebook or Instagram or LinkedIn or Twitter, Facebook that are all Talking about business. Reading a fiction book gives you just, you know, a sense of adventure and rekindles the other part of your brain that.
That probably doesn't get a lot of exercise, you know, thinking out of the box, being creative. My, My favorite thing to read is psychological thriller because, you know, once again, as a marketer, I love reading into people's intentions and motivations and thinking about what they're going to do next and figuring out nuances and context and, you know, how people acted and why. That's so. So I love reading thrillers. And for my top two suggestions, reading a biography, reading a fiction. I would highly encourage you to do this in a weekend. Literally start the book Friday night or Sunday morning, Saturday morning, I mean, and then you have to finish the book in that weekend. Just put a lot of time in it. You might be surprised how much, how fast you could finish. And the other thing with that is you also get to train yourself in reading, in reading with speed. Eventually, the more you read, the faster you'll be able to.
So, yeah, that'd be my suggestion.
Number three, take a short class or course and apply it.
That would be really a good combo.
So taking a short class, going through a course is obviously already a good idea, but a lot of people miss out on the important part, which is the application.
When you have a business, it's cool for you as a founder to be curious about certain things to use or try certain things to your advantage.
But some people, honestly, they. They get kind of mental masturbation out of learning about the thing, and then they forget to apply it to their companies or apply the changes, even just for data, even just to see. Maybe it's fear, maybe it's procrast, maybe it's overthinking, to be honest. So I want you to pick a short class, pick a course, and apply what you learned.
So right now I'm actually in the middle of two classes. I have taken up a certification for Lean Six Sigma management because I want to be a better manager. And I just go through it, you know, one weekend at a time.
But to be honest, I've been procrastinating a little bit on it because it's only three hours, but it's taking me a while to finish it.
But you can finish that, obviously in one weekend, and so do that.
The other class that I'm taking is I took a poetry class from Megan Fowley, who is a really famous spoken word poet and a prose writer, and she has 500 worldwide students in her poetry class. Poems that don't suck. And we are to write certain poems every week, one poem per week, based on the prompts that she shares with us. And she also gives us feedback. She also has teaching assistants that help her give feedback and kind of organize this thing. It's really beautiful. And I always go back to poetry because as a trained writer, a former journalist, and a former.
Can I call myself a former poet? I did get paid to write poetry before and perform poetry, so. But yeah, I love poetry. It's one of the things that. That it's my favorite art. It's my favorite type of art. And if I can only do or experience one type of art forever, it would definitely be poetry. Music would only be second. But yeah, I love poetry and, and I enjoy it, you know, and the other kind of benefit for me as a business owner with learning poetry is I get to be really strong or I get to be really good at copywriting. My words are stronger. I get to twist the knife better.
And the best thing about poetry is the economy of words. When you learn that and when you learn how to say the most in the. With the least amount of words, your copy will pack a lot of punch.
So if you're listening and if you have an interest in improving your skills as a copywriter, definitely join a poetry class.
So, yeah, is there anything that you want to learn? Is there anything that you want to formalize? You know, maybe you want to take an mba. Maybe, you know, you want to take up a certification that will help you become a better, a more attractive option to your clients.
Maybe there's something that you want to master that will help you in marketing. Maybe a LinkedIn mastery course. Or maybe you finally want to learn how to do media buying or ads so that you can do it for yourself. So take a class or a course on a weekend and apply it. Apply certain things in your business and see how far it goes.
Number four, High ROI activity. I love this call a long distance friend.
You know, the world is so big and so small at the same time. And you just got to remind yourself that I know a lot of your friends have moved probably out of town or maybe you're the one that moved out of town because you are the crazy person who decided to start a business and decided to not be limited by borders.
And so a lot of us have long distance friends and we always, I always see messages on Facebook or, you know, comments or people interacting that say stuff like, oh, we should catch up soon, or, you know, maybe I'll visit you Someday. But like, what if you just catch up now? You know, just call a friend maybe randomly. Or you can also plan it. You can do lunch zoom dates. Sometimes I do that with my girlfriends and we would talk for an hour and just update each other about our life. You know, it's high ROI because it's so good for your heart.
It's, it's so good to rekindle and work on those relationships, make them better, make them more cheerful. It's, it's high ROI because you gain a very good memory and, and less regrets.
You know, you're not procrastinating on something. Like if you want to catch up, then catch up with your friend.
It really means a lot to them too. You know, a lot of people now struggle with depression, anxiety, and a lot of them are just waiting for permission to tell you about what they're going through. And if you make that first step and you're giving them permission, you're giving them a safe space to, to tell them, you know, their thoughts, maybe they have something that they want to vent, maybe they have certain problems that, you know, they need your help or maybe they just need someone to listen, but you're giving them a soft place to land. So. And that's always appreciated and it also will make you feel better because that certain connection is really priceless. And my best friend from high school, Pam, she is currently at a cruise ship right now and it's very hard to get signal, enough signal for a call. So we would text each other almost every day, actually, just random things and sometimes on WhatsApp and sometimes she wouldn't even be able to load a certain meme that I would send her because of how bad the Internet is. So we would do a call like once a month, but it would be like an hour long conversation. And I just know that I feel so good every time that call ends and my heart is full and you know, it's a beautiful feeling.
Long distance friend doesn't have to be limited to a friend. Of course. You can call like a cousin that's really close to you, your sister, right, so maybe your aunt or your grandma. You know, it will really make their day.
An old teacher to tell them that you appreciate them.
Maybe even an ex spouse, right? You have a good relationship with your ex and you know, you, you wish them the best. You can, you can also do that if you have a good relationship. That's the, that's the key. If you don't, then just don't. Just spend that time somewhere else with Your friends or whatever. I mean, I'm not. No judging. No judging. No judgment.
Yeah, I think that's a nice thing to do and definitely a high ROI activity.
So, number five, I would say organize your house.
This is super important because your house packs a lot of energy. You spend a lot of time in your house. And I have a really, really important principle on where I live. It needs to be beautiful. It needs to have enough space.
It needs to be good for me and healthy for me. I have lived in places where I've cut corners, and I have. Even though I could afford it. Well, first of all, a while ago, I just couldn't afford it. After that, I knew I was able to afford it, but I was just still being cheap.
And until I changed my mindset. And one time I searched for the most expensive apartment in the city, and I just decided that I'm going to get a unit in that building. And I did it.
And that year my income tripled within 90 days. I'm not kidding.
And I was able to really appreciate the energy that comes with a beautiful house that has everything you need. And so afterwards, you know, you kind of move to choosing a certain city, choosing a certain location that's perfect for you. But a lot of the things that happen inside your house is very important. So organizing your house is really a huge ROI activity for me because it gets my mind straight. You know, Jordan Peterson talks about cleaning your room as a. As a metaphor for, you know, you start somewhere in setting your life in order.
You start somewhere and you need a physical reminder that you are worth or worth some order. You are worth. You're worthy of discipline. You're worthy of cleanliness. You're worthy of order.
Right? And that's what I like about cleaning my house and organizing my house and donating certain stuff that I don't need. And, you know, having a lot of space that lets my mind breathe. All of these things really contribute to a better headspace for you. And if you're the leader, the business owner, the founder of your company, then you. It's only.
It's only gain, you know, it's only gains from it. Like, you're. You're not losing anything. There's really no downside. And, you know, if you're. If you get to donate certain things, and that's good as well, you get to be a blessing to other people. And so that's why I feel, you know, I meet people who say stuff like, oh, you know what? I spend a lot of time in cafes anyway, so I don't really care if my house is small or my house is not tidy or even if like they can afford it. Like for me, my house, I don't care if half of what I make goes to my house. As long as I'm comfortable, healthy, I'm safe because everything flows in that house. You know, it's. I am a huge believer of energy and I cook a lot. So my house has to have a great kitchen, has to have a lot of daylight, has to be clean. And of course, if you follow me on social media, you also probably learn that I talk about my home team a lot. And my home team are the people that take care of me and my home. Like you know, my, my housekeeper or like in certain countries, a driver or a Reiki lady or masseuse that comes to my house or of course your emergency team, like you know, like a plumber or a locksmith, whatever. But yeah, organize your house, donate things, be mindful about where you put things and maybe ask yourself, is there a better way to do this? And then if you want to take it further, clean the energy of the house.
You can sage it, you can use Palo Santo or you don't have to use like crystals or, or holy water. You, it can be as easy as sitting by yourself and praying and, and thinking about each corner of your house and being grateful about what it brings to you and your life.
In my house, I have my favorite parts are my kitchen and my workstation and my bed. It's. My bed is where I get rest kitchen, it's where I cook food nourishment. I love cooking for my husband and, and my workstation is where I shine the most. It's where I, I am at my best. I am working on my zone of genius and my zone of genius alone. It's where I'm able to empower my team. It's where I'm able to empower other people through their business because they're able to outsource some of their most important tasks to us.
And it, you know that that zone in my house makes me, reminds me of my potential, of the best I could be. And that's why I do not cut corners on my house.
So yeah, as you're doing this high ROI activity, organizing your house cleaning, its energy, you might realize that you are ready for the next house.
You're ready for an upgrade. Yeah.
So activity number six would be be indulgent in self care.
So I talk a lot about taking care of yourself, your head, space, breathing deeply, peace, you know, real wealth is peace and you can use your weekend for something super indulgent in the self care arena. So for me that would be like a mix of you know, beauty sleep, a nature walk, going to the spa, getting sauna and cold plunge and having that as you know, back and forth three times. That is like my, my routine actually at the spa I do the sauna for 15 minutes and then a cold plunge for three to five minutes and then I do that back and forth, back and forth three times. It's called contrast therapy and it helps open up your like lymphatic system and it also is good for your heart, it's good for your body, it's good for you, it's good for your sleep, it's so good for you. So I love doing that. I would spend hours just doing stuff that are good for me. You know, I would like have a good meal, I would just sleep a little longer.
I would maybe put the silk sheets on, do yoga, do extra creams, get a facial or something like that. But self like indulgence, self care on the weekends is a good reminder that you matter and that you love yourself. I think that having these thoughts and, and reminding us of, of these thoughts is important because who will teach other people how to love you?
It's you. You are the only one who can teach other people how to look at you and how to love you and how to value you. And the first step is showing you yourself how you do that and then other people will see and is good for you. It's good for your body, it's good for your skin, it's good for your health. And so I personally think it's a high ROI weekend activity. And of course you don't have to spend a lot of money doing all the, you know, spending all day at the spa and like you're, you spent like $500 getting a massage, a facial, a body scrub, doing the sauna and you're like, well Carla told me it's a high ROI activity. So here I am.
So you don't have to do all of that. You can just do it, you know, you can DIY a lot of it and be inside your house and go for a nature walk also you know, be, you know, hug a tree, even put your feet in the sand or something ground. So so many ways that you can do some indulgent self care, eat a scoop of ice cream or five. I don't know.
The next high ROI weekend activity that I would love you would consider is meal prep so meal preparation a lot, we probably are not aware of this, but a huge part of our decision making budget of our brain and our headspace actually goes into what to eat and deciding what to eat.
And if you meal prep, not only do you lessen that decision making and make yourself less tired, you're also planning, you know, in advance what to eat and you have, you can make healthier choices.
And if you're busy, then if you have all of this food in your fridge and you can just heat them up so that you can eat your next meal, then it really is more convenient for you. And if you planned it in advance to be really healthy, you know, you, there's certain, you know, if, if you track your macros, for example, like for me my diet is mostly carnivore, it's mostly meat. And the most beneficial thing for me to eat actually is beef.
And so I, I, I eat beef like almost every day.
So I do that. And then if I meal prep during, you know, on a weekend, I, I have a lot of free time during the week because I'm not cooking all the time.
Of course you will have cravings from time to time, but having food ready to go is just a huge ROI activity for me because of how often you have to eat and how that part is taken care of. So I used to do this by myself, but now earlier this year we hired a cook for our house. I taught her my recipes and now she is, she comes to our house once a week, every Monday at 10am and she cooks a big batch. She cooks for like five to six hours and then there's food in the fridge for the week. She cooks three dishes and of course we need a little variety.
And then throughout the week my husband and I just eat that food.
Of course we still go out, we still have tacos or kfc, you know, if we crave it. But having that convenience is just pretty priceless and really, really, really good for us.
The next high ROI activity would be detox. So detox or detoxification is taking away toxins from your body and just cleaning your body.
And so earlier when I talked about self care, it's, it's, it's indulgent, right? But now here it's just good for your health. And you're, you're mostly just getting rid of garbage in your body. So you can, or your mind, you can do this in many ways. Like you can sauna, you can juice cleanse, you can drink probiotics or fiber, you can sleep for more than eight Hours, you make it an alcohol free weekend or maybe gluten free weekend, toxin free weekend.
No fast food weekend, no social media weekend. Or maybe put your phone on grayscale, no TV weekend. Whatever you think is kind of not good for you or a toxin in your life, try to, try to absolutely ban it starting on the weekends. Then eventually you might move up to doing it forever. You know, I've had a lot of friends who tried to do juice cleanses or just, you know, fasting on a weekend or give up alcohol and then eventually it they started to actually give up alcohol and stay sober and they also have severely reduced consumption of, you know, just like fast food or other not healthy things that, that they do.
When you say toxin, when we say toxin, it also means other things that are toxic to us. Just like you can also clean your friends list detox, social media detox.
You can curate your feed to be all positive messages, delete pictures on your phone. You know, like kind of just a cleanse of everything.
There's many ways to do it, but whatever, detox, whatever that word means to you, think about it, make a list and, and do the things on that list.
In terms of supplementation, I would recommend taking probiotics, eating kimchi fiber or going on a fast, maybe a minimum of 24 hour fast. You'll feel good, just trust me on this high roi. Weekend activity number nine is serious financial planning.
And yes, you might talk to a financial planner, but the other way to do this is also having some quiet time and sitting with yourself and getting a notebook out or a sketchpad or whatever. And write about your income, write about plans to make passive income, set certain targets, set certain financial targets for retirement, budget for fun.
Think about how much you need to make to be comfortably, you know, living your life and doing all of the things that you want to do for leisure, entertainment, travel, making other people happy, donating. So think about all the money stuff that you're doing. How often do you pay your credit cards?
Do you need to get a better credit card? Are you gaining all of the benefits of the cards that you're using? Maybe you can do better.
Check out your taxes. Are there any other expenses that you need to clock in? So those are little things like those expenses and everything. But I want you to also really do some serious long term planning for this. You know, if you devote a weekend to doing this and you can maybe even make this inspirational, like maybe you can get a room at a beautiful upscale resort to really inspire you what a rich life looks like. By the way, that concept, you know, what does your rich life look like? It's a very cool concept by Ramit Sethi on helping people decide what's important to them and not being limited by, by being thrifty as a way to be financially independent or wealthy. So check that out. Check out his.
I think he has a podcast or Ramit Sethi how to be rich or something like that. He also has a show on Netflix and he also has a book, I will teach you to be rich. I like the principles of that book. Another book that I recommend is Die with zero, and it talks about planning your money in a certain way that you really maximize its utility while you're alive. A lot of people over prepare for retirement and over prepare for their death so they can leave something for their children. But really, if you raise your children well, they should be able to fend for themselves.
Um, and so it would be better if you get to enjoy that money while you're alive and go to trips and have life experiences and have many adventures and check everything off of your bucket list. And so all of these things that you want to do, they need some serious financial planning. And so if you can incorporate that in a weekend activity, that would be awesome. And you'll only gain from it as well. You're going to love it.
Number 10, high ROI weekend activity. And this is the last one is book a trip.
Just do it. Just spend Saturday planning it and spend Sunday booking it.
And it has. It doesn't have to be expensive. You can even be smart with it. You can use websites such as Just get out of town. Yeah, visit that website. Just get out of town dot com. And they feature cheap flights. You can check TripAdvisor for activities or Airbnb experiences for activities in that area.
It doesn't have to be out of the country if you can't afford it.
You can even take a drive to a nearby city and check out certain things there. And basically the concept here is just stop putting it off. You know, like, traveling is something that you do that you ROI forever because of the things that you learn while you're doing it. Like you're. You learn resourcefulness, you learn tolerance for others, you learn about culture, you learn about history.
Sometimes you even learn a new language.
And sometimes you meet amazing people, you meet the love of your life, you meet a future business partner. But obviously traveling is one of those things that have a lot of ROI in it. And so instead of just kind of, you know, using travel as, as an aspiration or as part of like, you know, a thing that's left for wishful thinking.
Why don't you do it? Just, just do it. Just stop procrastinating on it.
And you can even make it into part partially like a business trip. You know, there's a conference that you always wanted to go to. You can just do that. And so that would be my recommendation. Just book that trip. You don't have to do it every weekend, but just book it. Have something to look forward to. By the way, that part is also very important. Dan Ariely, the basically the father of modern behavioral economics, says that one of the best or the highest dopamine experiences that we actually have in our lives is anticipating a trip. And he says that anticipating a trip actually has the highest satisfaction more than doing the trip itself. And then the second satisfaction is telling the stories from that trip and you get to do that forever as well. So yeah, those, that's a pretty big list actually. It's small list, it's just 10 things. But if you spend one item on each weekend and you cycle them out 10 weeks at a time, I think you, you're gonna live a very, very good life. I'm, I'm, I'm, you know, I would bet my laptop on it.
My laptop is cheap by the way. But yeah, let's go over these options again, these suggestions. Hi Roi, weekend activities. Instead of binge watching Netflix, number one, read a biography. Number two, read, read some fiction. Number three, take a short class or course and apply it. Don't forget about that part. Number four, call a long distance friend. Number five, organize your house. Number six, indulge in self care activities for yourself. Number seven, meal prep. Number eight, detox.
Whatever detox means to you. Number nine, spend some time doing some serious financial planning. Number ten, plan and book a trip.
So I hope you like this list. I hope you like a little bit of that, little bit of story time.
